London Experimental was founded by Fletch Fletcher in 2016.

In our first year we received over 193 submissions from all over the world.

Our first screening took place in a shipping container on the grounds of the University of East London.

This screening established the DNA of our festival; screening in alternative locations and free for all to watch.

Paul Fletcher envisioned the festival to be a platform with no programming, no competition and no prizes.

To be fluid and evolving, to promote experimental film and to build a community.

We abide by this philosophy to this date.
